St. Francis students should behave in a gentlemanly manner on their way to and from the school. They are reminded that the school is judged by their conduct.
Students must be regular and punctual. The school gate will be closed at the first bell at 9:20 a.m. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter the school premises. At 9:20 am all the students must be present for the school assembly.
Students are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hours or recess without the explicit permission of the Principal/ Vice Principal. No child will be sent home even if any urgent need arises, unless a duly authorized person comes to fetch him/her with a note of authority from the parents. This is considered only after filling out the leave note form which is available in the office.
All the students must extend their cooperation in the proper upkeep of all the property of the school.
The students should not scratch or spoil the desks, benches, chairs, etc.
The students should not damage any furniture of the school or the belongings of others. Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the Class Teacher. Recovery against any such damage must be done up by the concerned students with a fine imposed on him/her/them for such a misdeed. Such misdeeds may entail expulsion from the school also.
Politeness and courtesy of speech are much emphasized. Students spilling ink, littering papers, scribbling on the school desks or walls, stealing or damaging other students' belongings or school property will be liable to deserve punishment to the extent of a heavy fine, cover the damage, suspension, or even dismissal.
Students are not allowed to give gifts to teachers.
The school will not be responsible for any loss of articles of the students. All articles found in the school and not claimed for shall be disposed of after a month. Students are not permitted to bring valuable articles to school. Students shall take good care of their books and personal belongings. Each article should be marked with the pupil's name, admission number, and class.
Outdoor games physical education and work experience will be compulsory for all the students. Exemption may be granted only after parents meet the Principal or with a written application for the same and if the reason is found valid. Parents or any school matters and phone calls will attend only during school hours.
Students are advised to contribute generously when collections are taken for the poor and the needy, for any other humanitarian cause, or during any calamities.
In case of doubt regarding the interpretation of the school rules, the decision of the discipline committee (i.e. School Managing Committee) is final.
English shall be spoken at all times on the premises by the students and teachers.
School diary should be brought to the school daily. Magazines, Newspapers, etc. are not to be brought to the school.
All children are expected to bring the tiffin with them for the noon recess..
Parents and guardians are not allowed to see their children to visit teachers or to enter the school veranda during school hours.
All homework should be done neatly and the day's work always be dated.
All the students are expected to take an active part in all co-curricular activities.
Students should treat others respectfully and be responsible for other's good names. Calling nicknames, spreading rumors, etc. are strictly forbidden.
Students must obtain the Principal's permission for late arrivals or absences. Those absent on the first day after vacations will incur a Rs. 100/per day fine; Rs. 20 for unexcused absences otherwise. Leave of absence requires a written application from the guardian. If unauthorized absence exceeds 15 days, the defaulter's name will be struck off the rolls and considered withdrawn.
Admission of absentees to class is granted, only when they show the class teacher the Regularity Record duly countersigned by the Principal/Vice Principal.
Wearing the school uniform daily is mandatory. Hence, children should have an adequate supply of uniforms.
Personal cleanliness is crucial. Nails should be trimmed regularly, shoes polished, and hairstyles neat-boys with short hair and girls with proper braids. Additionally, wearing an ID card is mandatory.
Students who are not appropriately dressed and groomed may be excluded from the class.
Examination & Promotion
Students have two major exams each year, Term 1 and Term 2, along with four periodic assessments and regular unit tests. The passing mark is 40%, and students must bring their hall ticket for every exam.
Promotions are based on one year's overall performance, not just the marks from the final exams. Attendance for both major exams is mandatory. At the end of the year, the average of both major exams is considered. A total aggregate of 40% in each subject is required for promotion. Additionally, classwork and homework are also assessed and contribute to the evaluation.
Each student is required to be present for 90% of school days as a pre-condition for promotion.

Grades, and not ranks, are given to the children after each examination. No grade will be given if a child has failed or is absent in any subject. Final examination answer scripts will not be shown
There shall be neither a re-test nor a re-exam.
The result declared at the end of the year is final and cannot be reconsidered. In all questions of promotion or failure, the Principal's decision is final.
If a pupil does not pass in all the subjects any concession he/she enjoys will be cancelled.
Anyone who resorts to unfair means in the examinations will be dismissed instantly.
Conveyance facility may be arranged by the school for children who can be brought to a particular stop, but a seat on the bus is not guaranteed. Arrangements must be made by the guardian to bring the children to the bus stop and take them back home.
Even for the partial use of the conveyance, fees for 11 months will be charged.
Conveyance facilities may be withdrawn for disciplinary reasons.

Monday & Thursday: Ivory shirt, red tie, blazer, with navy-blue skirt/pants
Tuesday & Friday: Sky blue check shirt with navy-blue skirt/pants(No tie and blazer)
Wednesday & Saturday: School tracksuit (for physical education and activities)
